TOWNHOUSE MUSIC

Owned and operated by Matt James since 2O14, TOWNHOUSE MUSIC has been privileged to host a range of talent performing in a diverse and challenging array of styles. We are conveniently located near Trinity Bellwoods Park. Our industry contacts and our co-operative relationships with other studios in the GTA allow us to accomplish any recording, mixing, composing, sound-designing, mastering, or post-audio task, or anything else to do with the recording and production of sonic content. We are also here to share knowledge and to teach others how to organize sound into art by various means - performance, recording, midi programming, mixing and mastering. We always focus on how important every single project and student is, and we only know how to do things one way at TOWNHOUSE MUSIC: to perfection.

ABOUT THE OWNER: Matt James began making music as a child, began formal study at age 1O, and has been performing and recording for about twenty years. Matt holds a bachelor of music in Jazz performance from Humber college (2OO7) and an M.A. in ethnomusicology from the University of Toronto (2O13). In 2O13 Matt began a doctorate in ethnomusicology, but ended the pursuit of his PhD in order to open TOWNHOUSE MUSIC as a full-time endeavour.
